About Artist Wilfred Stijger

Wilfred Stijger is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, and three-dimensional design. For more than 30 years, he has explored a wide range of materials and techniques, creating work for public and private collections around the world.

He began working with ephemeral materials in 1989, initially focusing on sand sculpture and later expanding into ice and snow sculpture. Since then, he has participated in numerous national and international symposiums, commissions, and competitions, continually pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with these temporary materials.

Alongside his artistic practice, Wilfred designs and develops specialized tools for sand, snow, and ice sculptors. His innovative approach combines traditional craftsmanship with practical engineering, creating tools that have become valuable additions to the sculptor’s workshop.
